Joho, since you've been travelling so much for wedding photography. I have a enquiry about a wedding in Germany next year. This could be my first assignment overseas. but I dont know how to charge them. Care to advise?

Hi Jason,

I'm not sure how you'd like to do it, for me I charge the same rate as local weddings, customers pay for passage and accomodation and an additional per day allowance.

I'd say you'd be gone for a minimum of 4 calander days for a place like Germany, so charge your usual rate, + (4 x daily allowance), as for passage and accomodation, they can book for you or you can book yourself and charge them. booking yourself helps you earn flyer points.

After all said, it's up to negotiations. I've been known to waive or apply a discount on the allowances, if the package they've booked me with is already substantially costly (close to 5 figures). Rates and of course expenses due to travel and accomodation and not really negotiable.

Actually you know what, i shouldn't be discussing this here. please email me for further questions. =)
