Why can't DSLR be same live view LCD as on compact cameras?
So small optical viewfinder viewing is making my eyes painful. I doubt if the LCD is only use for viewing photos, then it is useless.
the nature of a slr (digital or film) is that it has a mirror in between the lens and the sensor/film. this mirror reflects the image up into the viewfinder so we can see exactly what we are shooting, exactly what the lens sees. that is the reason why it is good. a live preview on LCD isn't fast enuff, or hi resolution enuff. dSLRs have pretty big viewfinders espcecially the pro range cameras.
thing is, nowadays, pple get really used to using an LCD to frame photos. if that's what you're (only) comfortable with, then stick to a digicam. however if you do pick up a dslr, i'm sure u'll learn to appreciate the "instant" (it's optical!) view and the clarity especially with fast lenses (low f-stop).
I heard that now DSLR of Olympus E.330 and Panasonic Lumix L1 are having a live view LCD.
Yet they are very fast in snapping photos.
A remarkable breakthrough.
I buy budget range, pro range are too expensive.
Even your d2hs cost more than $5000.
eheh nothing's faster than seeing it with ur eye thru glass.. nor clearer. (i'm talking about seeing the image "live" here, not about the other "speed" related parameters of a cam, like af, shutter lag and black out, write times, etc)
and also, try manual focusing with an LCD. =) can die lor...
it really depends on wat u wanna shoot.. if u're shooting a mountain that won't change for the next 100 years, then it's no problem. but if you're shooting an overactive jack russel, it makes a world of difference. and i'm talking about getting good images by luck either. =)
